Methods of Language Manipulation in The Kazakh Media

This article discusses the methods of media manipulation in modern Kazakh media texts. Now this problem is becoming extremely relevant, since at present the number of media consumers living in a large stream of media information, which is not always of high quality and reliable, has significantly increased in the world and Kazakhstan. Incorrect, fake and manipulative information increases the risk of negatively influencing the opinion, mood and behavior of society, as well as misleading the general reader.
The authors of the article rightly point out that manipulation can occur in various discursive practices. This article discusses such a type of manipulation as media manipulation. The material of a solid mass sample from Kazakhstani Internet information sources, online platforms and social networks. As a result of the analysis of media texts, it was revealed that the authors of media publications use different techniques and means, with the help of which information and psychological effects on readers are carried out, manipulation means are considered at different language levels. Examples of evaluative words and phraseological units, euphemisms, and rhetorical questions that have manipulative potential are given. The author considers irony, appeal to authoritative sources, aggression, fear and others.
